The Karen Hospital Awards
This award was given to Catheterization(Cath Lab) Nurse Samuel Kingori, it is in memory of Nurse Kanai of the Nairobi Clinic who worked exemplarily well with the whole team. Nurse Kingori has been in Karen Hospital since 2006 and has won several awards for his good work.
He assist in the diagnosis and intervention procedures in the lab, that deals with various issues including the Heart, Brain, Kidneys, Liver, Upper and Lower limbs.
“It is a privilege to work in the Cath lab. I want to grow my skills and become an electrophysiology technician, most patients who need these services must go out of the country, I want to avail it for them here. I love my job, I love saving peoples lives” Nurse Kingori said.
His Awards Include:
- 2006-2008 Sr. Kanai Award
- 2008-2009 Best Employee of the Year
- 2010-2014 Best Karen Hospital Nurse Award (World Nurses Day)
He was also awarded a scholarship to Master in Cath Lab in India, and on his return managed to get the best staff in the department award.
Wesley Lemanyang takes the best student award after having contributed to the growth of the organization through increasing the Hospitals clientele. The 2nd year student at the Karen Hospital Nursing School says that he loves being part of the organization and hope to return on completing his studies.
He plans to further his studies to be an Endoscopy Nurse or a Theatre Nurse.
The theatre department bagged this award after having shown the best attributes of customer service, etiquette, team work and success. The 24 hour 7 days a week department on the 1st floor of the Karen Hospital hosts a 21 member team, which has shown exemplary service to their clients and the doctors as well.
