2018 HEART RUN

Nairobi, March 17th, 2018: Hundreds of Kenyans today gathered at Uhuru Gardens Nairobi to participate in The Karen Hospital Heart Run.
The Run which is one of Kenya’s major charity sporting events has over the years attracted thousands of participants from across the country. Today’s event attracted more than 10,000 participants.
The event was officially launched by Nairobi County Executive of Health, Dr. Hitan Chhagan Majevda. In his address, he urged participants to adopt healthy lifestyles to maintain healthy hearts.

NAIROBI, Thursday, December 7th, 2017: Training institutions have been urged to work together and develop strategies geared towards narrowing the growing skills gaps for health specialists in Kenya.

Nairobi, December 14th, 2017: The Karen Hospital’s Heart to Heart Foundation has been lauded for enabling hundreds of children from less privileged families undergo open heart surgeries.
Former Chairman of the Kenya Revenue Authority Board of Directors, Major (Rtd) Marsden Madoka noted that the medical charity foundation has over the years raised funds which have assisted more than 400 beneficiaries undergo open heart surgeries, in the process giving the young ones a second lease of life.
“This year alone, 12 beneficiaries were able to undergo open heart surgeries, thanks to your generous contributions! So far the foundation has been able to provide open heart surgeries to more than 400 beneficiaries,” he stated.

The president’s visit to the hospital

We are honored to have hosted the sitting president of the Republic of Kenya his excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, whose visit entailed a tour of various departments at the hospital: radiology, paediatric just to mention a few. The technicians had an opportunity to illustrate to the president various functionalities of the equipment used in their respective departments. As a result most of them were motivated by this rare opportunity.

It starts as an irritation of the throat, then fever sets in, painful joints and a running nose. For most people there are several home remedies that will cure this sore throat.
